The groundbreaking Pharsighted E9•50S ultra high-speed camera delivers unparalleled speed and sensitivity for today’s high-speed videographers. Undoubtedly, the E9•50S is the most light-sensitive high-speed and ultra high-speed camera available globally. Its backside illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor, featuring 52-micron pixels, offers light sensitivity ratings of ISO 12232 160,000D for monochrome and ISO 12232 40,000D for color. The E9•50S can capture an astonishing 164,000 frames per second at a resolution of 640×480 pixels, achieving a total system throughput of 50 gigapixels per second. It can also achieve exposure times as brief as 98 nanoseconds. This custom image sensor is paired with a state-of-the-art camera system designed to meet the demands of the most challenging photographic environments.

With internal memory options of 54GB, 108GB, or 216GB, the E9•50S simplifies the triggering of fast events, providing real-time recording durations of 1.14, 2.8, or 3.42 seconds. Included with every Pharsighted E9•50S is a U.2 NVMe SSD that allows for an effortless workflow, reduced save times, and virtually immediate permanent storage of critical test data. Additional storage drives are readily available and operate seamlessly with current operating systems.

The camera system also includes the ability to use active lens mounts, an internal shutter for remote black references, dual power inputs, rugged 10G Ethernet, PTP time code, six configurable I/O ports, analog input, dedicated trigger, and SDI video that are at the ready to meet any needs that arise out of difficult applications. All of this is housed in the camera body which is actively-cooled, rugged, and sealed from the outside environment.

Simple, straight-forward camera operation is provided by Pharsighted’s SLOW application, which is cross-platform compatible with Windows, macOS, or Linux. SLOW files, Pharsighted’s proprietary RAW file format, can then be converted into a variety of common video formats for distribution or analysis.
